Dance or movement therapy, as defined by the American Dance Therapy Association, is the psychotherapeutic use of movement to further the emotional, cognitive, physical, and social integration of the individual.

Ashtanga is an integrated eight-fold process which consists of: yama, niyama, asana, pranayama, pratyhara, dharana, dhyana, and samadhi.
