Answer to Question 1

The change process identified by Prochaska begins slowly before you make a deliberate decision to change. Rather than marching in linear fashion from one stage to the next, most people spiral through the stages.

The five steps of the transtheoretical (Stages of Change) model proposed by psychologist James Prochaska are: precontemplation, contemplation, preparation, action, and maintenance.
