Answer to Question 1

TRUE

Answer to Question 2

One result of heavy drinking is that the liver begins to store fat, a condition known as fatty liver. The excess fat cannot be transported to storage sites, and the fat-filled liver cells stop functioning. Continued drinking results in fibrosis, in which the damaged area of the liver develops scar tissue. With continued drinking, cirrhosis develops, in which liver cells die and the damage is permanent. Chronic heavy alcohol intake can also result in alcoholic hepatitis, inflammation of the liver that can be fatal.
