A stroke occurs when brain cells are damaged by the disruption of the blood supply.
Types:
1. Ischemic: caused by plaque formation or a clot that reduces or entirely blocks blood flow.
2. Hemorrhagic: due to a weakening of a blood vessel that causes it to bulge or burst.
