1. Eat nutrient-dense foods.
2. Eat seafood twice a week.
3. Avoid empty calories.
4. Engage in physical activity.
The recommended proportions of each food group are:
1/3 plate = fruits
2/3 plate = vegetables
1/4 plate = grains, and at least half of these should be whole grains
1/4 plate = protein
Plus a serving of calcium-rich dairy or non-dairy foods or beverages
