Answer to Question 1

Simple carbohydrates (also called simple sugars) are made up of only one sugar molecule or of two sugar molecules bonded together. The body converts all simple sugars to glucose to provide energy to cells.
Complex carbohydrates (also called polysaccharides) consist of long chains of glucose. Starches, glycogen, and fiber are the primary types of complex carbohydrates. Glycogen is the form of glucose that can be stored in the muscles and liver and used later for energy.

2. Take threats seriously.
3. Let the person know you care.
4. Ask directly if he or she is thinking about suicide.
5. Take action.
6. Help think about alternatives and encourage him or her to get help.
