Answer: These include forming an attachment with the newborn and depression from the new challenges, sleep deprivation, and rapid fluctuations in reproductive hormones.

Answer: Anesthesia, usually an epidural block, is the most common form of pain medication. It can prolong labor and recovery. Natural childbirth with no medication is an alternative with no side effects to the fetus.
