How does the plasma membrane and sarcoplasmic reticulum of a muscle cell differ from a non-muscle cell?

It is beneficial for it to condense so that when the cell divides in mitosis, it can keep track of the chromosomes easier. The DNA is not in this state when the cell is not dividing so that it can be read (chromosomes cannot be read when they are condensed).
