Answer to Question 1

Passive- the practice in which no heroic measures are taken to preserve life, also called negative euthanasia
Active- the practice of actions that speed the process of dying, also called positive euthanasia.

Answer to Question 2

Living Will- A document, executed while a patient is competent, that provides direction as to medical care in the event the patient is incapacitated or unable to make personal decisions.

Durable Power of Attorney- allows a competent person to name someone to make his health related decisions.
