Answer to Question 1

Impairment is any temporary or permanent loss or abnormality of a body structure or function, whether physiological or psychological.
Disability is a restriction or inability to perform an activity in the manner or within the range considered normal for a human being, mostly resulting from impairment. Handicap is the result of an impairment or a disability that limits or prevents the fulfillment of one or several roles that are regarded as normal (depending on age, sex, social, and cultural factors) for that individual. Stated differently, the impairment might be the disease or diagnosis; the disability is how the impairment (i.e., the disease or diagnosis) affects the person.

Finally, the handicap is an interaction between the impairment or disability and the person's socio-economic environment. In other words, how does the problem affect the person's life? What functional limitations or problems are posed by the impairment or the disability?
