SAMHSA offers three resources to substance abuse treatment programs: the Center for Substance Abuse Treatment, the National Registry of Evidence-based Programs and Practices, and the National Outcome Measures. Would these resources be part of the quality improvement or the utilization management process for the facility?

Through an interview process with the client, the technician administering the tool uses the client's responses to assign a severity score. The score is mathematically weighted and can be used to measure outcomes.
