Answer to Question 1

Answer: Primary forests are those that have not been substantially disturbed by humans. Humans have heavily exploited forests for wood products and wood to burn. The pattern of primary forests is one of places of little human population.

Answer to Question 2

Answer: The Nearctic Region consists of the non-tropic parts of North America. It is a relatively poor assemblage compared to other regions and is transitional between Palearctic and Neotropical realms.
