Answers will vary. The main broad issue facing both glacial and periglacial environments is global climate change. Many affects of these changes are already present, such as melting sea ice; reduced surface ice; melting permafrost; break-up of ice sheets, etc. These will continue to be an issue throughout the 21st Century.
