Answer to Question 1

Evapotranspiration is the combined effect of transpiration by plants and evaporation from Earththis is to say, it is the water vapor released by Earth upon solar heating and the water vapor released from plants through photosynthesis.

Answer to Question 2

Once precipitation has fallen on land, it might get stored as ice in a glacier or become running water. Liquid water on the surface may become runoff, eventually finding its way into streams and then basins, such as lakes or oceans. Liquid water may also infiltrate the ground, either to be taken up by plants or to become part of the groundwater system.
