Answer to Question 1

It is expected that essays will reflect the excitement and trepidation of recent
political and economic changes; the uncertainties that these changes will bring; a greater
awareness of Western consumer culture; recognition of social and health conditions, including
domestic violence and alcoholism; a mixture of positive and negative economic conditions, such
as housing shortages and reduced employment opportunities, offset by growth in some sectors.

Answer to Question 2

Answers should mention lower value manufacturing moving to Indonesia from Singapore, FDI from Taiwan.
