Students should focus on cultural features (e.g., churches or mosques; ethnic markets and restaurants); class divisions (e.g,. gated communities or impoverished areas); and economic features (e.g., factorieswith employment in the secondary sectoror businesses dominated by employment in tertiary or quaternary sectors).

Answer to Question 2

Air tends to occupy spaces between the ice crystals and air movement through the snowpack is limited. The snowpack is not a very effective conductor of heat and so it insulates the soil from the cold air above. Soil temperatures, therefore, tend to be higher than they otherwise would be.
