Answer: Ice caps are smaller and cover upland areas and plateaus. Ice sheets are more massive and can cover entire continents.

Answer to Question 2

Answer: As the basin continues to rebound, the lake is decanting water to the south. Lake levels in the northern part of the basin are getting shallower as the water is shifting to the south, flooding shorelines and drowning forests.
