Organic matter buried with sediment can convert to combustible energy. They are called fossil fuels because coal, oil, and gas are combustible energy sources.

Answer to Question 2

Composition is the primary feature to name chemical and biogenic sedimentary rocks. Texture is secondary, as most chemical and biochemical rocks have very fine-grained textures.
