Answer to Question 1

ANS: B
Legionella species, Chlamydophilia pneumoniae, and Mycoplasma pneumoniae together account for 10 to 20 of cases. These latter organisms, called atypical pathogens, vary in frequency in recent reports, depending on the age of the patient population, the season of the year, and geo-graphical locale.

Answer to Question 2

ANS: B
In urban settings that have a high incidence of endemic HIV infection, P. jiroveci may be a more common cause of community-acquired pneumonia and, according to one report, may account for up to 13 of cases.
