What is the function of the thorax?

ANS: C
The thorax is a cone-shaped cavity that houses the lungs and the contents of the mediastinum (Figure 9-16). It functions to protect the vital organs within and has the capability of changing shape to enable air to be moved into and out of the lungs.

Answer to Question 2

ANS: B
The fused connection between the manubrium and the body is known as the sternal angle. It is also known as the angle of Louis.
