Answer to Question 1

A
COPD does not usually lead to atelectasis. All of the other listed conditions are restrictive in nature and can lead to atelectasis.

Answer to Question 2

D
An L:S ratio of 1:2 (anything less than a 2:1 ratio) would indicate immature lungs and increased risk of RDS. Mature fetal lungs are indicated by an S:A ratio of >55, the presence of PG, and an L:S ratio of 2:1 or greater.
