In Stage III, the cancer extends to the pelvic wall and involves the lower one-third of the vagina. In stage I, there is carcinoma in situ. In stage II, cancer extends beyond the cervix, but not into the pelvic wall, or it involves the vagina, but not the lower one-third of the vagina. In stage IV, cancer is widely spread throughout the pelvic region or throughout the body
