Answer to Question 1

A
Feedback:
Hormone replacement therapy (HRT) may be prescribed to treat severe symptoms and discomforts. Estrogen replacement therapy lasting longer than 8 years has been associated with a higher risk of breast cancer. Some researchers have theorized that hormone use increases a woman's tendency toward uterine cancer. Other research shows that conjugated estrogens, in combination with medroxyprogesterone acetate (Provera), help reduce the risk of later cervical cancer. Vaginal dryness is a side effect of menopause. The cause of endometriosis is unknown, but it usually affects women between the ages of 25 and 45 years and is not related to HRT.
