Methadone doses are highly individualized, but an average daily dose is 20 to 120 mg, not 200 mg. The nurse need not prevent the client from interacting with others; methadone maintenance programs require the client to participate in some form of group therapy to help the person find new ways of problem solving in a drug-free environment.
