Answer to Question 1

B
Feedback:
The nurse should suggest that the client gradually participate in group activities because this will give her an opportunity to express her feelings and talk about pain with others who can relate to it. The client should exercise or go for walks with a group of friends or family. The nurse should not recommend activities in the room that the client is comfortable performing, which means the client would be involved in an activity by herself, or that she should wait to talk with the physician about coping strategies. Support groups enable the client to express her feelings, receive suggestions to handle the situation, and obtain vocational counseling.
