Answer to Question 1

ANS: 2
Personal power allows nurses to practice the art of nursing. This power enables the nurse to give the kind of care that makes a difference in a patient's life and to truly develop a relationship with that person.

Answer to Question 2

ANS: 3
Nursing students are still learning and do not have the knowledge to make difficult ethical decisions independently, so they should seek guidance from their instructors or another experienced nurse. Intuition is the feeling that you should or should not do something and yet there is no reason for having the feeling. It is not an acceptable way for a novice nurse to make an ethical decision.
