Answer to Question 1

ANS: 1, 2, 3
Nurses working for a laissez-faire leader will receive little guidance and work with a great deal of autonomy. Working for a laissez-faire leader results in lack of synchrony with the rest of the organization. This leader generally does not provide mechanisms for the workers to move beyond the safety level of Maslow's hierarchy of needs.

Answer to Question 2

ANS: 1, 2, 5
Some unskilled long-term care facilities may promote LPNs to director of nursing. LPNs often act as charge nurse in long-term care facilities. LPNs may be asked to lead the staff education department in long-term care facilities, providing orientation to new employees as well as staff development opportunities.
