Mediolateral

Rationale: The mediolateral will superimpose the metatarsals if properly positioned. The foot should be dorsiflexed and foot arranged so the plantar surface of the foot is perpendicular to the image receptor.

Answer to Question 2

upright

Rationale: Air-fluid levels are acquired when the patient is upright. Air-fluid levels can pertain to joints.
