Content validity refers to the idea that a test should assess a representative sample of all of the content presented to students. Construct validity refers to the idea that a test measures a hypothetical concept or trait that is inferred from observable behavior. Criterion-related validity refers to the idea that the test adequately measures a standard or criterion of skills for which it is designed to measure. Consequence validity refers to the adequacy of the decisions or interpretations by which test results will be made.
