Answer to Question 1

ANS: F
Skin cannot be sterilized. Skin is a potential source of contamination in every invasive procedure. Mechanical washing and chemical asepsis are used to remove or inactivate transient and resident flora from skin around the surgical site. Gloved hands do not touch the skin and then touch deeper tissues.

Answer to Question 2

ANS: F
Sterile personnel turn their back to an unsterile person or unsterile area to avoid contamination when passing.
