Answer to Question 1

ANS: D
Liquid waste can be solidified with powder that turns to gel. Some facilities have closed suction liquid waste containers. Some solutions can be flushed down a hopper. Fluids that contain drugs, or are contaminated must be handled according to facility policy and never dumped down the sink or hopper.

Answer to Question 2

ANS: C
All contaminated instruments should be placed inside the case cart. The cart is either covered or closed and taken to the central decontamination area.
