Answer to Question 1

The oral mucosa cannot be used for CRT (capillary refill time), skin tenting to assess hydration status is omitted, and TPR (temperature, pulse, and respiration) is omitted because these findings may not be reliable and there are no palpable lymph nodes.

The signalment may be unknown; the description of the cage and its location needs to be as thorough as possible; the types of toys and perches available; times out of cage; other pets in the household.
