Answer to Question 1

Whether to treat a patient for rabies will depend on the following criteria:
the species of animal that caused the bite
the frequency of rabies in the community
the circumstances surrounding the bite (Was the animal provoked or was it an unprovoked attack?)
the behavior of the biting animal
whether the animal can be quarantined and observed
whether the animal's head (in the case of a wild animal) can be sent in for laboratory examination of the
brain

Answer to Question 2

The organism causing Rocky Mountain spotted fever multiplies in the cells of the small peripheral blood
vessels. Fever, headache, and skin rash are symptoms of Rocky Mountain spotted fever. Early diagnosis and
treatment with antibiotics is important because the disease can cause death when not treated.

Although the Roman numeral for the number 4 has always been taught to have been "IV," according to historians, the ancient Romans probably used "IIII" most of the time. This is partially backed up by the fact that early grandfather clocks displayed IIII for the number 4 instead of IV. Early clockmakers apparently thought that the IIII balanced out the VIII (used for the number 8) on the clock face and that it just looked better.
