Application of lime has been shown to decrease disease transmission. It is extremely important
that all lime be removed prior to returning animals to the stall. Contact with lime causes
extreme skin scalding.

The location of the wet bedding is determined by the sex of the animal. Males tend to urinate
in the center of the stall; females urinate at the periphery.
