Answer to Question 1

C
Interpersonal therapy is based on the assumption that psychological distress frequently occurs in conjunction with disturbed human relationships. Interpersonal therapy is based on the interpersonal theories of Sullivan and the related nursing theory of Peplau. Sullivan discusses interpersonal relationships and how they affect the good me, bad me, and not me concepts. Peplau focuses on the nurse-client relationship.

Answer to Question 2

B
The scope of contemporary psychiatric nursing practice requires knowledge and expertise in three broad areas: managing the therapeutic milieu, implementing caregiving activities, and integrating and coordinating care delivery. All psychiatric nurses, regardless of education or experience, engage in these activities every day.
