Answer to Question 1

2,5
Rationale: Talking it out. The client does not indicate she has been talking with others.

Answer to Question 2

3
Rationale: Empowering the victim is an important step in the recovery process. The victim knows that what is happening is wrong and that there may be setbacks, but the nurse's role is to help set the stage for movement towards an abuse-free future. Every client should have a discharge plan prior to leaving the hospital, but this practice is not mandated by law. Things rarely improve in abusive homes without outside intervention.

These people included 55 lung cancer patients, 31 breast cancer patients, and 83 cancer-free patients. The dogs detected 54 of the 55 lung cancer patients as having cancer, detected 28 of the 31 breast cancer patients, and gave only three false-positive results (detecting cancer in people who didn't have it).
