Answer to Question 1

3
Rationale: Power struggles between members in therapy groups should be made overt. Seeking social support, suggesting alternatives, and expressing affection are usually appropriate activities in therapy groups. Increasing conflict and denigrating other group members is inappropriate behavior. Expressing sorrow may or may not be appropriate behavior.

Answer to Question 2

2
Rationale: Understanding the neurobiology of the client's behavior will help the family comprehend the rationale for treatment. It also places the client's illness in the same context as any other medical disorder. The phenotype is the expression of the genotype. The family will have to understand the client's medication regimen, but should have an understanding of why the medications were selected. Symptoms should be discussed in terms of neurobiology.
