Answer to Question 1

Ans: B
In 1946, the National Mental Health Act provided funding for states to develop mental health programs outside of state psychiatric hospitals. Deinstitutionalizat ion describes the movement of chronically mentally ill clients from the state psychiatric hospitals back to their homes or to community-supervised facilities. The Community Mental Health Centers Act authorized the nationwide development of community mental health centers to be established outside of hospitals in the least restrictive setting in the community. The New Freedom Commission on Mental Health is charged with studying the mental health system in the United States.

Answer to Question 2

Ans: B
PACT is a service-delivery model that provides comprehensive, locally based treatment to clients with serious and persistent mental illnesses. It provides highly individualized services directly to consumers. A key feature includes legal and advocacy services. Day-treatment programs, psychiatric home care, and psychiatric emergency care do not provide legal and advocacy services.
