Answer to Question 1

ANS: B
Stage 3delta rhythm is a period of deep and restful sleep. Muscles are relaxed, heart rate and blood pressure fall, and breathing slows. No eye movement occurs.

Answer to Question 2

ANS: C
The nurse should associate a decrease in GABA with panic disorder. Enhancement of the GABA system is the mechanism of action by which benzodiazepines produce a calming effect, thus reducing anxiety. Alterations in the GABA system are also associated with movement disorders and epilepsy.

These people included 55 lung cancer patients, 31 breast cancer patients, and 83 cancer-free patients. The dogs detected 54 of the 55 lung cancer patients as having cancer, detected 28 of the 31 breast cancer patients, and gave only three false-positive results (detecting cancer in people who didn't have it).
