a. Who is paying for the study?
b. What is the reputation of the scientists involved?
c. What is the source of the information?
d. Is the science/methodology sound?
e. Does it sound too extreme?

Answer to Question 2

Junk science is the selective use of data, style, or scientific-like methods to advance a political or economic agenda.
