The reasons why animal agriculture is very important in the Developing World include:

1 . Livestock make a significant contribution to the poor in developing countries with it estimated that 60 of income coming from livestock.
2 . Livestock provide a route out of the poverty trap.
3 . Livestock provide a source of cash (milk and egg money plus hides).
4 . There is high-quality nutrition derived from food from the animals.
5 . Livestock provide power for plowing.
6 . Livestock provide manure for fertilizing the soil.
7 . Dried cattle dung can be used as a fuel in Asia and Africa.
