Contagious diseases are mostly caused by bacteria and viruses. They can be spread by direct contact
with infected animals, shared housing, contaminated feed or water, or possibly an intermediary host
such as birds, rodents, or insects.



Answer to Question 2

Signs of a parasite infestation may include any five of the following: poor growth, weight loss,
constant coughing and gagging, anemia, reduced production and reproduction; diarrhea or bloody
feces; worms in feces, swelling under the neck, poor stamina, loss of hair; the occurrence of mange,
and visibility of the parasite itself.
