Answer to Question 1

If soil has a large percentage of clay, the ground will not let enough water through. This
may either cause the water to run off or may hold the water too long and cause problems
for the plant.



Answer to Question 2

Loam soil is considered to be nearly ideal for growing moist crops due to its percentages
of sand, silt, and clay.
