Because it does not put pesticides into the environment when they are not essential.

Answer to Question 2

Is the pesticide specific to kill only that pest? What is the toxicity of the pesticide?
Is the pesticide non-toxic to beneficial organisms? What is the residual life of the pesticide?

What is the mode of action of the pesticide?

Is there a biological or biorational control that can be used for this pest problem?
