Answer to Question 1

Yes. Preservatives should be used at every point that fresh flowers
are in water; as soon as they are harvested at the production firm, at the wholesale
house, and in the retail shop.

Answer to Question 2

Use irrigation methods that do not wet the leaves; water early in the day
to allow drying before nightfall; ventilate the greenhouse; use raised-mesh
benches to provide drainage; and use sloped concrete or gravel floors to avoid
standing water.

The dogs detected 54 of the 55 lung cancer patients as having cancer, detected 28 of the 31 breast cancer patients, and gave only three false-positive results (detecting cancer in people who didn't have it).
