Answer to Question 1

Rationale: Parathyroid hormone is responsible for maintaining serum calcium and phosphorous levels within normal range. Thyroid hormone is responsible for maintaining a normal metabolic rate in the body. Follicle-stimulating hormone and adrenocorticotropic hormone are produced by the anterior pituitary gland.
