Answer to Question 1

2. Examination and treatment of sexual partner

Rationale:
Candidiasis is a sexually transmitted infection. It may be that this woman's sexual partner is also infected with candidiasis and that the couple is transmitting the infection between them. Examination and treatment of the partner is indicated. There is no need for tissue excision. Candidiasis is a yeast infection. Antibiotic therapy is not indicated and may, in fact, complicate treatment.

Answer to Question 2

1. Oral contraceptives

Rationale:
Oral contraceptives can be used to regulate uterine bleeding in women when the bleeding is anovulatory. Progestin therapy can be used to treat ovulatory uterine bleeding. The therapeutic D and C would not be an initial therapy for condition. Endometrial ablation would destroy the client's fertility.
