C
Studies revealed that clients who are elderly in long term care display more functional impairment when they have pneumonia and urinary tract infections than the same populace in the community.

Answer to Question 2

A
Hospice care provides care to the client and family through the dying process and assists the family in the grief process. Palliative care treats the complications for clients with chronic diseases or diseases that are not responsive to a cure. Palliative care is separate from hospice care and is effective if started early in the disease process.
