Answer to Question 1

A
Hypoplastic (aplastic) anemia occurs when the bone marrow decreases or stops functioning; although there is no known primary cause, secondary aplastic anemia can be caused by a variety of toxic agents, viruses, or medications.

Answer to Question 2

B
To set the flow rate for a client's IV infusion: prepare to set the flow rate (have paper and pencil ready to calculate, review calibration in drops per mL of each infusion set) and determine hourly rate by dividing total volume by total hours to be infused. 1,000 mL/12 hours = 83 mL/hr
