Answer to Question 1

A
Feedback:
The nurses or rescuers should perform an assessment after five cycles of compressions and ventilations and every few minutes thereafter. Assessment for signs of spontaneous breathing can take place only by interrupting chest compressions; such interruptions should not last more than 5 seconds. The nurse performs CPR at a rate of 15 compressions to 2 ventilations. The nurse does not wait for assessment until the emergency resuscitation personnel arrive but rather assesses the client periodically to check if the CPR is effective or not.

Answer to Question 2

A
Feedback:
The nurse should obtain a three-prong grounded plug adapter, as it carries any stray electricity back to the ground. Using an extension cord may be an electrical hazard. Taping the electrical cord to the ground and running the electrical cord under the carpet are not appropriate actions for electrical safety.
